Its not easy for foreigners to invest in South Korea

South Korea has made it difficult for foreigners to invest and to remain invested. Jim Rogers says he thinks there are better countries to invest in such as North Korea although he cannot directly invest there due to US laws.

"Investing in South Korea’s stocks is a real pain. You (foreigners) cannot transfer shares from one broker to another. I have invested in 50 or 60 countries around the world in my history and the South Korean stock exchange really, really, makes it difficult. I don’t think they want foreigners to invest in South Korea. I do have investments, but I don’t like investing in South Korea because the stock exchange makes it so incredibly difficult. I know businessmen who say they would rather do business in China than in South Korea because South Korea is so complicated."

Jim Rogers is critical of Interest Rates

Are politicians clueless or too focused on getting votes ? Getting votes usually means making policies for short term benefits. Jim Rogers thinks the current government policies are going to harm us all in the end.

"The central bank, the president, Congress — everybody in Washington has no clue and they’re going to be the ruination of us all. They’ve driven interest rates to the lowest in record history, they don’t know what they’re doing and we’re all going to pay the price for it. Interest rates are absurdly low. They’ve never been this low in history. We’re going to pay a serious price.”

Price of Bitcoin will be at $0 one day

Price of Bitcoin will be at ZERO one day

“They’re all going to go to zero and disappear, so I’m not a player with the cryptocurrencies. I wish I had been. It’s one of those things that went up a lot and still is up a lot, but I have never bought or sold any of them. In my view, they’re all going to zero and disappearing.”

Cannabis stocks seem interesting for investment purposes

Jim Rogers wishes he had owned Cannabis stocks because they have had a great run

"I’m extremely interested in cannabis. It’s going to be — it already is a huge market. It’s going to get bigger and bigger. Something like 90 percent of Americans can now buy cannabis legally, all of Canadians, Columbians. More and more people are becoming eligible to buy cannabis and it’s going to be a great investment if you find the right companies and the right prices. I have a private company in Columbia in which I’m an investor but I don’t have any public stocks. Not at the moment, but I wish I did — we all wish we did.”

Investment opportunities in North Korea make sense

“Communism totally ruined North Korea. They don’t have anything in North Korea. They don’t have tables, electricity, (and) soap. They don’t have anything so there are huge opportunities in a country which is opening up.

Transformation
"When I was there, all the signs were about the military, defense and protecting themselves. Now everything is about the economy, how they can become more prosperous."

Infrastructure
"Railroads on the east and west coast will be rebuilt and restored ― the Koreas will become a transportation hub."

Tourism

That’s when Japan, China and other people are going to feel more effects of trade war because he thinks it will help him win the election."
